Service Description

The Heal the Healers program is designed specifically to help health care providers reflect and restore a sense of meaning in their work. This program offers an opportunity for health care providers to reflect on the realities of being a health care provider in the current socio-political context, explore their personal narratives, and consider the meaning of their work at this particular time in their lives. This program is intended to help healers connect their personal and professional lives. Ideal participants are providers who are eager to self-reflect, examine areas of vulnerabilities, and explore patterns of recurrent challenges. BIPOC and LGBTQ providers are encouraged to participate. The guiding principles of the program are: Mindful Compassion, Social Psychophysiology, Ecological Systems Theory , Reflective Practice, and Community Healing Each session will be organized around one aspect of the guiding principles as it relates to practice of health care delivery. In addition to didactic presentations, substantial time will be spent on experiential practice and group process. Each member will be invited to discuss their work, family, and social systems. The goal of this program is to facilitate connection of personal values to their work in health care. In order to provide structure and sustainability, this program is offered as a virtual monthly 2 hour group that culminates in a week-long in- person retreat format. At the residential retreat, the schedule will be loosely structured to optimize connection with others, nature, and self.
